The idea for SoRelated.com came out of necessity.
My girlfriend Kelly has a massive immediate family who lives 5 states away. With 4 sisters and 2 nephews, it's really difficult to keep track of what's going on in everyone's lives. They thought about starting a family blog, but didn't want everything public. So I created SoRelated.com for them.
I started work on the site Thanksgiving Day, 2008. I got the most basic post working, and decided to move forward. I've been obsessed with building the site ever since, and now I'm dedicated to building this website so that families can communicate without it being made public.
SoRelated.com was started for $20 with a Gift Card I got for Christmas. I have no multimillion dollar funding and no bailouts in the forseeable future. If you like it, that's awesome. Let your friends know about the site. If you see something that could be improved, let me know. I'm just one person, but I'll do my best.
